How I Built a Real Estate Website That Builds Trust Before the First Call

A real estate agency needed a website that makes potential buyers and sellers feel confident before they ever pick up the phone. I built a fast, modern site with property sections, team profiles, and testimonials that positions them as the go-to agency in their market.

How do you make a real estate agency stand out online?

Dorrly is a real estate agency that handles everything from family houses and luxury apartments to high-value investment properties. They needed a website that positions them as professionals buyers and sellers can trust before the first phone call. I built a multi-page site with smooth animations, team profiles, and testimonial sections that does exactly that.

Why does design matter so much for real estate?

Real estate is a trust business. People are making the biggest financial decision of their lives, and they want to work with an agency that looks established and professional. A generic template site sends the wrong message.

For Dorrly, I designed a clean layout with large property images, generous white space, and a warm color palette. The hero section features a full-width image of a modern home with a clear headline and call-to-action. As you scroll, each section fades in smoothly using GSAP ScrollTrigger. The animations are subtle because the goal is to feel polished, not flashy.

How did I structure the site to convert visitors?

The homepage follows a proven flow: hero with value proposition, about section with stats, seller-focused section with a step-by-step process, services overview, team profiles, testimonials, and a consultation CTA.

The services section breaks down what Dorrly offers into four clear categories: Property Investment, Property Leasing, Property Valuation, and Real Estate Consultation. Each service gets a short description so visitors can quickly find what they need.

The team section puts real faces front and center. People want to know who they will be working with. Each agent has a photo, name, and role, all linked to individual profile pages.

What role do testimonials play?

The testimonial slider is one of the most important sections on the page. Real quotes from past clients do more to build trust than any copy I could write. I built a horizontal slider with navigation controls so visitors can browse multiple reviews without leaving the page.

What was the tech stack?

The entire site is built with Astro, which means it ships almost zero JavaScript to the browser. Page load times are under a second on any device. The scroll animations use GSAP ScrollTrigger, and the testimonial slider is lightweight custom code. No heavy frameworks, no unnecessary dependencies.

The site is fully responsive. Property images scale properly from desktop to mobile, and the layout adapts at every breakpoint. Most real estate browsing happens on phones, so mobile performance was a priority from day one.

What was the result?

The full site was delivered in about a week, including the homepage, inner pages, team profiles, and one round of design tweaks. Dorrly now has a professional online presence that matches the quality of their service and gives potential clients confidence before they ever make contact.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a real estate website cost?
A custom real estate website typically costs between $500 and $2,000 depending on the number of pages, design complexity, and features like team profiles or testimonial sliders. This is far less than an agency, which can charge $10,000 or more for similar work.
How long does it take to build a real estate website?
A multi-page real estate website usually takes 1 to 2 weeks from design to launch. This includes homepage, about, services, contact pages, responsive testing across devices, and one round of revisions.
What pages should a real estate website have?
At minimum you need a homepage with a strong hero, an about page with team profiles, a services page explaining what you offer, and a contact page. Testimonials, property listings, and a blog help build trust and improve search rankings over time.
Why does page speed matter for real estate websites?
Home buyers and sellers often browse multiple agency websites before reaching out. If your site takes more than 3 seconds to load, they move on. A fast site built with Astro ships almost zero JavaScript, keeping load times under 1 second on any device.
Can a freelancer build a real estate website as good as an agency?
Yes. A skilled freelance developer can deliver the same quality as an agency for a fraction of the cost. You work directly with the person building your site, which means faster communication, fewer layers, and quicker turnaround.
What makes a real estate website build trust with visitors?
High-quality property images, real team photos with names and roles, genuine client testimonials, and clear service descriptions. Visitors want to see real people and real results before they reach out. A polished design signals professionalism instantly.
